Open-minded atheist and skeptic. Phobic of butterflies, heights, and multi-story indoor ceilings. Obsessive-compulsive. Honourary Canadian. |

Description: Jin’s boyfriend and, occasionally, unwitting accomplice. Helps brainstorm ideas for comics if no actual work on his part is involved. Non-confrontational and easy-going, except when driving. Hobbies include console and arcade video games, reading, movies, manga, and music. Little bit of a slacker, but a hard worker when it counts. Loves peanut butter baked goods. Two years younger than Jin. |

Name: The Rats
Description: Jin’s mischief. Presently comprised of five rats. Likes pizza crusts, steamed rice, macaroni and cheese, cookies, fresh veggies and fruits, french fries, and yogurt treats. Hobbies include destroying cardboard boxes and tubes, throwing unwanted food and bedding outside their cage, and staring forlornly at any humans eating nearby. |

Name: Brighton Howard
Description: Irritable and fictional news anchor who delivers his stories with a heaping plate of sarcasm, open bias, and wit. Hails from the United Kingdom and, when not ranting wildly, speaks with a charming accent. Likes science, intellectual honesty, jazz, foreign films, personal freedom, and cute girls with glasses. Dislikes people who want to legislate their religious beliefs, Jesus horses, most career policitians, and the fact that he is entirely made up. |

Name: Hermit Crabs and other Miscellaneous Pets
Description: Besides rats, Jin has or has had other pets, including hermit crabs, fish, and mice. They’ve only collectively had a few comics devoted to them, and in the interest of laziness they are getting lumped together. |

Description: Jin’s friend; a prolific novelist and writer of humour, satire, and political commentary. His hobbies include ranting, comic books, poker, and movies. Likes redheads and pie. His website is Solitare Rose Productions. |

Name: Rob
Description: One of Matt’s best friends; he made a few guest appearances in the beginning comics, including drawing comic #025. Doesn’t hang out with Jin too often, so he rarely appears in later strips. Writer and poet. |

Name: Tristan aka Psychonaut
Description: Jin’s friend and an ex-boyfriend, a world traveller originally from Canada. Computer scientist in the studies of computational linguistics and artificial intelligence, published essayist, devoted lover of ferrets. |

Name: Josh
Description: Jin’s room-mate at the beginning of Lunch Break. Likes fine wine and cigars, homebrewing, and wearing spandex shorts with padding in the ass. Made his final real appearance in comic #190. |

Description: Primary writer for the completed comic MacHall, and currently Three Panel Soul. Fellow rat lover, and watcher of current events and news. He wrote a guest script, #132, Dead Piro Days, and has appeared in comic #224. |

Description: Artist and creator of the popular comic Something Positive. The Lunch Break comics in which he appeared are set at AnimeFEST in Dallas, TX, September 2005. Appeared in #235, 237. |
